The Story Behind the Song
“Always first” tells the story from a child’s point of view, following a sweet and mischievous little girl whose biggest wish each day is for Mom or Dad to pick her up first from kindergarten. She loves playing, has friends and plenty of adventures, but being with her family is what she loves most, and she always wants to be first for the people she loves. Along the way come all the other little childhood competitions — who gets to be first, who teases whom, and who wants to grow up to be like big brother.
